A showcase video for the mod shows Link, I mean Snake, infiltrating the Forsaken Fortress - a stealth mission early on in the game - as he uses barrels to hide and make his way to the heart of the citadel. The mod was published back in 2018, but it made a comeback after a post on it went viral on Twitter. Everyone watch out! Link’s got a gun! Image: Nintendo/ AaronTheSnob (The little sausage legs just dangle in the wind as he parachutes down.) He wears his hair up with his recognizable headband and dons the dual-toned tactical espionage suit Snake is known for. The “Snake” in the mod is done in the style of Wind Waker, so he has big eyes and cute, stubby legs. Most categories come with a "default" folder to restore it back to the default texture.Watch out Ganon! You have a new hero sneaking up your way! Thanks to a mod created by AaronTheSnob, you can now play The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker as Solid Snake, the protagonist of the Metal Gear series. Rupee Font - Contains an alternate rupee font I created that matches WWHD for Wii-U. Controller Buttons - Alternate button interfaces for multiple controllers. Ocean Foam - Controls the draw distance of the ocean foam effect. Shadows - Changes the appearance of shadows across all characters and objects. Tetra - Alternate skins for Zelda/Tetra. Link - These are mostly Link's tunics, shield modifications, and sword modifications. I feel that it is worth mentioning a few of these specifically. The pack comes jam packed with lots of optional textures to play with. Playing any of the other EU languages will result in some missing textures specific to those languages.

This was designed for the English version of Wind Waker. If you want to use texture filtering, it should be enabled in your GPU driver settings. Dolphin's Anisotropic Filtering should be set to 1x to avoid some texture issues. The Boss Key requires Dolphin 5.0-8619 (or newer) or it will not be retextured! There are also a few other textures that have this issue.

This means Dolphin 5.0-6199 (or newer) or Ishiiruka must be used or these mipmap effects will not work. This pack uses arbitrary mipmap effects.

There are a few things to note when using this pack. PNG pack is mainly for archival purposes, as DDS packs do have a (almost imperceivable) reduction in quality. Try the "Half Size" pack if you are having trouble running the full sized pack. If the links are down there, you can try the mirror links below.ĭDS packs are much faster than PNG.

Download links for the pack can be found on Hypatia's blog.
